Joints in Motion

Achieve one of the most physically challenging goals of your life - complete a marathon or half-marathon! The Joints in Motion training program is designed to guide people at any fitness level through an 18-week training program to complete a marathon or half-marathon. Walk, jog or run your way across the finish line knowing that you've done something good for yourself and something wonderful for those who live with the daily pain of arthritis.

Walk or run a marathon

The Joints in Motion training program is designed to guide people of all ages and fitness levels through an extensive training program to complete a marathon or a half marathon. Approximately 80% of all Joints in Motion athletes have never run or walked a marathon before, but with our careful guidance and encouragement, nearly all of them go the 13.1 mile or 26.2 mile distance and cross the finish line.

The perceptions about arthritis vary, but the numbers don't lie:
  • Arthritis is one of the most prevalent chronic health problems and the nation's leading cause of disability

  • 46 million Americans have doctor-diagnosed arthritis and chronic joint symptoms

  • 300,000 people with arthritis are children

  • Arthritis costs the US economy nearly $128 billion annually in lost wages

  • There are more than 100 forms of arthritis

Your participation in Joints in Motion enables you to honor someone living with arthritis, increase awareness of this disease and raise much-needed funds for research, advocacy initiatives and programs to improve the lives of people with arthritis.
